George Rekers Digs Himself In Deeper

Lift the bags with me, and then the bags on me

Boy Ho Buyer George Rekers must be wielding a pretty good shovel with a dual purpose: tossing bullshit to the media and digging himself in a deeper hole. CBS News has now continued with the coverage of the pathetic closet case still defiant in condemning the very urges he has.

And here comes the damage control:

“Dr. Rekers found his recent travel assistant by interviewing different people who might be able to help, and did not even find out about his travel assistant’s Internet advertisements offering prostitution activity until after the trip was in progress.  There was nothing inappropriate with this relationship. Professor Rekers was not involved in any illegal or sexual behavior with his travel assistant.”

Oops! Problem already. Rekers and “Lucien” (Jo-Vanni Roman as discovered by The Advocate) already admitted they did meet via Rentboy.com.

“…Rekers wouldn’t deny he met his slender, blond escort at Rentboy.com — which features homepage images of men in bondage and grainy videos of crotch-rubbing twinks — and Lucien confirmed it.”

And the “I-only-found-out-he’s-a-ho-halfway-through” nonsense is laughable. Even if it were true and Rekers didn’t lay a hand on (or spread his cheeks for) Lucien, didn’t it occur to this guy–who is pretty high profile in his field–that having a male prostitute tag along with him would be this damaging if he were found out.  Did he even offer or insist to pay for a plane ticket for Lucien’s immediate flight home when he was “discovered?” And what explains Rekers’ handling his own baggage at the airport if he’s so weakened by surgery.

That’s some hefty bullshit you’re tossing, “Dr.”

And if, as his response states…

“His family, local friends, and even another university professor colleague have offered to accompany him on trips to assist him in his travel”

…then, I really wonder if all of them are going to pass up a chance to go to Europe on the “Doc’s” dime.  I mean, he did pay for the rentboy, right?

Those are some nice family values.
