Rupert Murdoch can’t handle parodies

This is really hilarious! Tony Hendra, the great contributor to the early days of National Lampoon and the previous co-creator of an earlier parody of The Wall Street Journal called Off the Wall Street Journal, restarted a parody of the famed daily, its latest incarnation called My Wall Street Journal.

Apparently, it’s pissed off Murdoch so much that a rep actually went out and tried to buy every copy he could find in some news stands in Los Angeles.

This high dive into rib-tickling stupidity, I swear, reminded me immediately of a very funny scene in Mel Brooks’ great comedy High Anxiety. In it, a mental hospital’s corrupt officials, who have seized the asylum to extort patients’ fees, have to figure out a way to keep incriminating evidence from discovery. Check out Harvey Korman’s “solution” involving “a biiig truck!”

Any more bright ideas, Wall Street Journal Fox guys?
