I know, I know, I haven’t been posting up here lately. Of course, I also haven’t been to any theatrical movies lately either, but hoping to change that soon.
In the meantime, I did watch The Moon is Blue, the movie Otto Preminger fought to have released the way he wanted–and we all should be thankful as it helped to take some bite out of the Breen Code. What’s striking nowadays is how innocuous it is. Today, the movie (based on a hit Broadway play) wouldn’t even make network television, but back in 1953, the main character’s talk of virginity drove the censors crazy and brought viewers to the theaters in droves.
