She sang songs in multiple languages, became one of the first African-American female sex symbols, took the Vietnam War protest directly into the White House (and seriously threatened her career–LBJ ordered that she be blacklisted from TV) and became a gay icon for her support of the gay community for years. No one could compare to her, and sorry Julie Newmar, Eartha for my money was the better Catwoman.
