This is what happens when you’re paying more attention to the election than pop culture: you don’t realize “Dolemite” Rudy Ray Moore passed on from complications of diabetes on October 19.  Easily the most outrageous of all heroes of blaxploitation (although he disliked the term), Moore became an icon for a new generation of hip-hopsters renting out his hilarious, kick-ass low-budget movies. Here he is in a wild chase scene in The Human Tornado giving hell to some “gravy-soppin’ muthafuckas!” Love the low-angle mud splash shots too.
